I am an Asian-American college student majoring in Technical Communications at the University of Washington. My Spring Quarter 05 Schedule: posTComm, TC 403, TC 407, ARCH 251, ESS 495.
All I need to do is find a PAID summer internship and I'm set!
Participate in the NEW poll! Located in your friendly left hand column, it is entitled "Highly Scientific Query", this weeks/month's question is: Why Do You Volunteer?
Sadly the previous polls have had a very low turn out, maybe even worse than what is expected for the next presidential election turnout.

Awesome play, I loved it, best 7 bucks I've spent in quite a while. Went shopping today!! Yay fun, got a Grande Carmel Frap which always makes me happy and a few school supplies, which I enjoy buying, but not exactly the using part...eh, it keeps me a little bit more motivated though. I'm super glad I went to see the play. I hope I get to go again with some friends. Hey it was kind of a Friday blog so here goes the Friday Five:
1. What are your favorite ways to relax and unwind? At the end of the day, I really like the moment right before I get into bed and pray when I get to read my devotional, it always puts things into perspective and gives me something to think about and it's just good to forget about everything that even remotely has the aura of stress.
2. What do you do the moment you get home from work/school/errands? Here at college, I dump my backpack and/or bags or whatever I'm carrying or my coat and plop in my chair and check my e-mail. Back at home, I dump everything by the stairs and then go into the kitchen in search of something to eat/drink and talk to whoever is there, and then I go and check my e-mail.
3. What are your favorite aromatherapeutic smells? Green tea, fresh citrus-y smells, Dan, Herbal Essences, lilac flowers, ozone, and The Foreign Place Smell, like how I could tell I was in Shanghai by the smell of the air, or in Switzerland, etc.
4. Do you feel more relaxed with a group of friends or hanging out by yourself? Usually? Probably more relaxed by myself. Although sometimes I like to stress myself out by doing things by myself, like going to concerts, movie, mall, shopping, somewhere, all by myself and honestly, I feel self-conscious and nervous that someone is going to think that I'm a loser. Which is stupid. But I guess I kind of like to challenge myself in that aspect and try to get over it. Being a group, especially a group of people that I don't know too well and thus don't know how 'close' I can get to them is really stressful and sometimes I'm just not a good conversationalist. I feel desperate to be on the inside, but the harder I try, the more distant I ultimately become.
5. What is something that you feel is relaxing but most people don't? Going to concerts and movies and things by myself.
On another note, since I stole the Friday Five idea from Christine I thought it only fair and about time that I put a link to her interesting blog on my list too. For those of you that don't know her, the defining moment in my relationship with her is about two years and 2 months ago when she stood up next to me at DYC (District Youth Conference) and we both decided to really seek after Jesus. It was cool having her there to share the moment with. She was bawling at the time, but I ended up bawling quite soon afterwards :). She has some interesting stuff on her site, and I added a few quotes to her ::Quoteable:: which is an extremely interesting concept and I like it a lot but I'm not a copy cat either. I spend too much time as it is on this thing :D. Okay yeah, the end.

I know I said I wouldn't do any more blogging for a few days but this is special.
AHHHHHHHHH I am SO HAPPY!!! I just got offered a position to be an intern over the summer at PNNL and I will be "developing a rapid assay (an ELISA microarray) for detecting markers of breast cancer." And amazingly, it has nothing to do with pulling strings or anything like that, Dr. Zangar when I called him he just said that my name floated to the top of applicants they were looking at from OFP applications, which is SO ironic because in an earlier blog, I was all freaking out because Mr. Potter said that I should have applied for SULI instead. I am so freaking out! Ahhhh, and I haven't even eaten lunch yet! And I have to go to physics!! And I have a formal lab report due tomorrow and a math midterm but right now all I can really think of is that YES, my summer is set. I get to work out at PNNL. Doing breast cancer research. And Dan is also working at PNNL. Life is great. Praise God! :)

No more blogging until Friday. I don't need the added stress of entertaining you. Go play 20 Questions or find an emulator and play Earthbound.

And I don't even notice it until like I go into one of the stalls and I see these drops of blood on the ground and a drop right on the seat and I'm like, ewww.... and luckily there's a clean stall next to it. Then when I come out, I notice the pool of blood right in the middle of the bathroom and basically, there's a few drops everywhere, to the entrance of the showers, next to one of the shower stalls, dripping down the front of the trash can...yeah, can you say biohazard? Pretty freaky stuff, it looked like someone had a nose bleed or something...and then decided to just stand in the middle of the bathroom and drip for a while. Anyway, I went and notified the RA about it and she went and called someone I think and I went and took my shower, carefully. Isn't college life so exciting?

Yay for electricity, besides the fact that it makes things like this blog possible, it also creates cool things like electric discharge. Say you have a capacitor of 3.5E-3 F and then you run 400V through it. From the equation E=1/2 * C * V^3, you can get 280J of energy, which when discharged, makes a terrific loud bang and a fireworks-like mini explosion and is also enough to kill ya. Yeah, I just got back from a rousing physics lecture.
