I am an Asian-American college student majoring in Technical Communications at the University of Washington. My Spring Quarter 05 Schedule: posTComm, TC 403, TC 407, ARCH 251, ESS 495.
All I need to do is find a PAID summer internship and I'm set!
So the Honors Croquet League played on the Quad today, and although the e-mail that I sent out to everyone was a little last minute...I freaking e-mailed like 19 people that I knew and not one, NOT ONE showed up. What kind of friends do I have huh? :P
On the upside :D I won. My very first win ever! And I have a staple to prove it :).
You don't have to be in the Honors Program to play and matches are once a month. Now, if any of my so-called friends would like to make it up to me for not showing up (grrrr), I'm going to Dim Sum tomorrow at noon. Meet by the bus stop on the AVE next to Schmitz. Is that clear? Okay.

The few pictures that I took tonight are up :D! Please view them HERE.
Today was quite productive I believe. Woke up early as all get out for O.Chem, then I recopied my notes after class and looked over the problems that I had questions on because I was meeting with my TA in the afternoon and needed to remember what I didn't understand. TA office hours are weird. Usually I never go because I don't know what to ask. I feel like, yeah, I understand the concept and everything, and how the problem is solved more or less, but just can't put two and two together. It just doesn't come out to be four on the tests. Had my first bowl of Easy Mac for lunch today. Lunch just sucks, everyone else I know has a 12:30 lunch break, while I have bio and a o.chem quiz section then. :P blah. Dinner was cool, I ate with a big Asian group at a Mongolian BBQ then we went to Wow! Bubble Tea for of course, bubble tea and then I visited Mercer and saw a bunch of other Tri-Citians. It was a nice reunion. Tomorrow I get to go play croquet!! 1 o'clock on the Quad.

1) I GOT INTO BIO 180!!! In spite of incredible chances, I pulled the ace of spades this afternoon! It was totally God's will. I'm super grateful to the people who I know were praying about it for me (Rachel & Dan), and also to anyone else who might have been praying about it but I didn't know :). So there are a total of 8 labs for Bio 180, 24 spots per lab. I could make it into 6 bio labs and I was supposed to go to each one until I got in. And the way you 'got in' to the class was if there was a spot open, the lab instructor would pull out her ratty deck of cards (minus jokers) and the 35 people there who wanted to get in would all pick a card. Ace is high. So like about 10 to 12 people already took a card and it got to me and I picked one and hit the jackpot! I've been waiting for this event for well over 4 months. I finally got to a point where I would have been totally cool with not getting in, I really liked my honors class (which I had to drop). This is like really super awesome cool though, now I can take Honors Biology in the Winter.
2) MY GRASS DIED!!! lol, actually, I'm just kidding. It's thriving and I still plan on mowing it this weekend. If anyone is interested in being there for the event, I think I'll do it in the morning sometime...maybe when I wake up. Anyway, the real news is that I'm not going to be giving blood tomorrow after all. Turns out I'm quite a bit underweight when compared to the minimum weight requirement or whatever for giving blood. They say they want someone like 130 lbs (or so I heard from Shiaokai). Oh well. I think Diane was relieved though, lol, a faint Feiya is not fun to fling far.

Get this: I'm going to try and give blood on Thursday at 4:30! Yeah I'm freaked. And maybe for no reason because I might not even be able to because I'm *cough* underweight. It'll be an interesting experience nonetheless. Well, interestingly enough, a whole group of people from 6th and 5th floor just came by, apparently they're just visiting random open doors lol, cool that. The library is great for being productive. Even though I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be, I think I did the best that my little brain could do :). BS rocked! 14 people crammed into a Haggett room. Great discussion, I look forward to more! Large Group will be one big hug.

First the good news! My grass is doing great! Yeah, I'm growing normal, lawn-type grass in a pot and it's getting long and green. I might have to 'mow' it this weekend. The other good news, that you'll actually care about, is that the pictures from the weekend IV BBQ are up! Many funny pictures of everyone. Feel free to just DL the picture off of the album and create your own captions. Tons of fun the IV BBQ was, yes indeedy. Free food and I got to see all my buddies and watch Mission Impossible, the first one.
Now for the bad news. Today is the first day of school. Also, there are, for real, like 200 people who are trying to get into Bio 180. And supposedly, there's like 2 spots left. Thus, I have to go to six separate lab sections to get my name into the lottery to get into the class. Well. Looks like I'm going to be taking that Plato class after all. I'm not giving up yet, but the statistics of it, and the percentage (1%), are uncomfortably low.
And just for the heck of it, the mediocre news...my English class is looking to be quite interesting. Although I have to read Hard Times, Heart of Darkness, and Mrs. Dalloway, and I've already read the former two, I get to read poems too and watch two films. And, since my teacher is Jewish, Yom Kippur happens to be next Monday, so we have no class.
I'm excited for Gospel Choir tonight though!! I estimate I'll know at least 1/3 of the class.
