I am an Asian-American college student majoring in Technical Communications at the University of Washington. My Spring Quarter 05 Schedule: posTComm, TC 403, TC 407, ARCH 251, ESS 495.
All I need to do is find a PAID summer internship and I'm set!
So as everyone noticed at the potluck, I'm currently reading this book Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris. I would not recommend it to pretty much just about anyone. It's these completely random, but more or less grouped by time little short stories. Most of the time I'm just like, why am I reading this about this guy? WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS? But however, I look on the bright side...of when I'll be able to finish this book and start a different one. But I have found this paragraph in it that I like a lot, the author happens to be gay, and they went to see a movie called "The End of the Affair" a typical chick flick type movie.
The picture ended at about ten, and afterwards we went for coffee at a little place across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens. I was ready to wipe the movie out of my mind, but Hugh was still under its spell. He looked as though his life had not only passed him by but paused along the way to spit in his face. Our coffee arrived, and as he blew his nose into a napkin, I encouraged him to look on the bright side.
"Listen," I said, "we maybe don't live in wartime London, but in terms of the occasional bomb scare, Paris is a pretty close second. We both love bacon and country music, what more could you possibly want?"
What more could he want? It was an incredibly stupid question and when he failed to answer, I was reminded of just how lucky I truly am. Movie characters might chase each other through fog or race down the stairs of burning buildings, but that's for beginners. Real love amounts to withholding the truth, even when you're offered the perfect opportunity to hurt someone's feelings. I wanted to say something to this effect, but my hand puppets were back home in their drawer. Instead, I pulled my chair a few inches closer, and we sat silently at our little table on the square, looking for all the world like two people in love.

How highly disappointing. I get online in the hopes that there's SOMEONE that I can IM with but no. Not even Zachie-kun is online. :P I just got a wisdom tooth out, my right one. Still have about 1/2 hour to go before I can eat something which is none too soon since the potluck is at noon apparently. I feel alright, it went a lot quicker than I expected and was way better than the memories I have of say, my root canal. Anesthesia is like amazing. It also helped that I was kind of tired and nearly fell asleep after they needled me and I had to wait for a while. I'm not going swimming but maybe I should change. I still feel a little cold. The fair last night was pretty tite. My brother and I spent SO SO much money.
Tickets to get in = $18
24 Book of tickets for rides = $18
Raspberry Lemonade 32 oz drink = $2.50
Cheesy Fries from Piggly Wiggly's = $8.39
Gift = $5
Gift2 = $5
Silly String = $3
Games = $6
Corn on the cob = $4
Cotton Candy = $3
Hamburger = ~$7
Drink #2 of the same = $2.50
Chicken fajita = $6
And I think that's about it, which comes to a grand total of about $88 spent from 6 PM - 11 PM. Yeah, I only had $55...which you think would be enough, but I had to use the ATM to get another $60 out. My brother rode the Circle of Fire, then the Gravitron and after that he felt dizzy but I was already in the line for the Zipper which was right next to it, and we had to wait 3 turns before we got to get in, and I think he felt a little better after that. The Zipper rocked. Screamed like none other, it was great. After that we went and did stuff like eating and then later when it was dark, rode the Ferris Wheel. Good times. The only person I saw that I recognized there was Ying. Everyone else was way young and A&F posers :P.
