I have been SO incredibly lazy these last, um, couple months. I was just going through the pixs that I took from my grandma's birthday all the way to the Labor Day Retreat and like yeah, I don't really feel like posting them right now. But however, here's a link to a vid that I took of Tian singing a song about ducks. Sadly, I just missed the last line which translated goes, but the duck that is in the oven is the best kind of duck.

Tian's Duck Song

Also, I'm going to have to bust my butt the week before I move back up to Seattle to unpack and repack all my stuff. I SWEAR I'm not going to bring so much stuff up...really. And when I get an apt, it's going to be decent sized so I can have lots of stuff. Yeah...that'll be good.

In other news, wow...so it's been three years now. It's one of those things that when I'm old, kids will ask me what I was doing, how I felt when I found out that day. As for me, I was driving to school when I heard about it on the radio, it was so unreal that I switched stations just to make sure and they were talking about it too so that convinced me that it really happened. Everyone at school was in a daze, subdued, disbelieving. The images were like a flash bulb light burned into the back of your eyes. So this is what it's like to experience history being made.

So the best part of the morning and afternoons are right before I get to work and driving to working out and driving home from working out because that's when I get to listen to the radio. In the mornings I usually listen mostly to 88.1 because everything else is talk shows. So this is an old song, but I heard it on the radio driving home today and it made me think, what does that mean..."She likes me for me"? What makes up a person? Okay, so definitely it's not material things, but, what they choose to spend (or not spend) their money on is a definite peek into what they value and what kind of financial person they are. And I suppose someone can have charm and charisma and be funny but that those are more like skills than characteristics? Someone who is well-versed in those could very well manipulate people instead of trying to make them happy for the sake of making them happy. When you get right down to it, why do we like some people more than others? It's not enough I think that they're nice. They can be too nice and be overbearing and sickening. I think truly, it's their faults that make them endearing. That when they're pissing you off the most you're also admiring them. Ahhh, maybe this is all doublethink.

Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me) - Blessid Union of Souls

She don't care about my car
She don't care about my money
And that's real good cause I don't got a lot to spend
But if I did it wouldn't mean nothin'

She likes me for me
Not because I look like Tyson Beckford
With the charm of Robert Redford
Oozing out my ears
But what she sees
Are my faults and indecisions
My insecure conditions
And the tears upon the pillow that I shed

She don't care about my big screen
Or my collection of DVD's
Things like that just never mattered much to her
Plus she don't watch too much TV

And she don't care that I can fly her
To places she ain't never been
If she really wants to go
I think deep down she knows that
All she has to say is when

She likes me for me
Not because I hang with Leonardo
Or that guy who played in 'Fargo'
I think his name is Steve
She's the one for me
And I just can't live without her
My arms belong around her
And I'm so glad I found her once again
And I'm so glad I found her once again
Yeah, I'm so glad I found her once again

Gazing at the ceiling as we entertain
our feelings in the dark
The things that we're afraid of
are gonna show us what we're made of in the end

She likes me for me
Not because I sing like Pavorotti
Or because I'm such a hottie
I like her for her
Not because she's phat like Cindy Crawford
She has got so much to offer
Why does she waste all her time with me
There must be something there that I don't see
I don't see

She likes me for me
Not because I'm tough like Dirty Harry
Make her laugh just like Jim Carrey
I'm like the Cable Guy
But what she sees
Is that I can't live without her
My arms belong around her
And I'm so glad I found her once again
Found her once again
Once again
Yeah, I'm so glad I found her once again
Once again
