Sweetness, Seattle is good. I'm minimally settled in so far, McC 466, and my hair is blue. :) Okay, going to go. Too much to do, WAY too little time!

I think I'll just randomly flip through my Yeats book and I'll blog any poems that I particularly like. Most of his poems aren't too hard to decipher.

Never give all the Heart
Never give all the heart, for love
Will hardly seem worth thinking of
To passionate women if it seem
Certain, and they never dream
That it fades out from kiss to kiss;
For everything that's lovely is
But a brief, dreamy, kind delight.
O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.
--W.B. Yeats

As for the message of the poem...it's something that seems like the borderlines on The Rules type of philosophy, but at the same time, there's some necessary prudence in trying to curtail the "deaf, and dumb and blind"-ness of love.

Yes, I am up at this ungodly hour and yeah...I decided to blog. Just wanted to recap the weekend before stumbling back to bed. So Friday was my last day of work. I got off early at around 2:30 and subsequently lost a bet with Zach. I picked him up at the airport the next day at around 2:34 PM. In the span of about 35 hours, we managed to go to Starbucks, go to Hastings twice (and I bought a book of Yeats' poems for less than $2, a 100% price reduction since it used to be $20), attend a wedding, buy watermelon oven mitts for a buck at Sausage Fest, go to Walmart twice, go to RiteAid, celebrate two birthdays (Zach's and his dad's, 20 and 54 yrs old respectively), buy my laptop, have dinner at Spaghetti Establishment, watch Father of the Bride, the last fifteen minutes or so of Speed, and OfficeSpace, and Zach got his hair bleached. Oh, and yeah sleep for a few hours in there somewhere. I got to go to Albersons at 3:30 in the morning and listen to them play techno. No, I don't think I was dreaming. But I was out of it enough that the music made me all anxious and feel hurried. It didn't help that Zach got chewed out by the ticket lady for being late and had to carry on his two bags instead of checking them in. AND he got 'randomly' picked to get searched. Okay....I'm feeling like I want to fall over now. Busy day and a half? I'd say so.
